July Flowers

I wait all year for my flowers to bloom, so of course I'm excited when they suddenly burst forth in July. I am still working on the garden, but it is getting to where I intend it to be.

A Few Summertime Union Square Shots

A few shots of Union Square, NYC in the summer. They were filming something or other - someone said it was "Tallulah," an upcoming 2016 Ellen Page film - but that was besides the point. It could be any film, or no film, the day was the real star. A beautiful, wonderful day to lay out and forget about everything.

First Flowers of Springs, 31 March 2015

Okay, they are not bouquets, or flaming red roses, or anything like that. However, what they are is... the first flowers of Spring. And in March. So that's something.

Gerald White in the Hospital

A few snaps of Gerald and family on 21 March 2015, during a stay in the hospital. He enjoyed the visit and a couple of hours outside.

Pikes Peak, Snow-capped

I snapped a few pictures of Pikes Peak in late March. The below are the result. There had been severe snowstorms a couple of weeks before this, but the weather had turned quite moderate. It was a clear, warm day. It's kind of interesting to me as a photographer how a slightly different location and time can produce a much different picture in terms of vividness of color and definition despite the same camera settings. The picture immediately below was taken about ten minutes later from a position a few miles north.

Narvik

Narvik. I'll be back.

Quite a hike up that mountain, but not so bad going back down.
